In October 2021 we ran a pilot river bank clean-up in the Henley area, we wanted a project that Clubs could make their own, while being a part of a larger project. We learnt a lot and applied it to a District wide clean-up throughout the District in May 2022.

So successful was the May event that we partnered with Thames21 for the September ‘PlasticBlitz’ a project with a scientific outcome contributing directly to an EU wide scientific study We started small on the upper Thames, and grew
from the Thames at its source, to East Anglia and beyond. We are helping Districts in the USA, Australia and Italy to develop the model first introduced in District 1090
